About Me

My home is in northwest Oregon.  I’m married with four daughters (raised) and seven grandchildren (so far).

Using my computer and the internet are a big part of my every day life.

I am a visual and creative person, and I always like to be working on something.

Saving money and getting a bargain is important, so I like learning to do things myself. Watching HGTV fascinates me because I like seeing people transform houses by fixing them up. A clean new look is my preference with soft, light colors. Some of the things I have done in the houses I’ve lived in are painting walls, painting cupboards, replacing a kitchen floor, making curtains and throw pillows, caulking, spray painting various items to update them, and reupholstering furniture.

My Happy Things

Reading and writing!  I’m an avid journal writer. The power of words is incredible and life-changing.

ART!  I’ve done many different forms of art including watercolor, acrylic, oil and tole painting.  I also like to do lettering.

Paper and scissors.  Scissors are seriously an awesome invention.  Card making would be my first choice of paper crafting.  I’ve also scrapbooked for years.

Handicraft: sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, embroidery and various types of crafting.  I have sewn since high school, making clothes for myself and my children.  I have also sewn and sold doll clothes (Barbie, baby, and American Girl size dolls) at craft fairs in the past.  For my daughter’s wedding in June 2015 I made six dresses for all her little nieces, 4 of which were of course my granddaughters.

Photos! I could looked at photos all day. Taking pictures to capture the moment is wonderful. Editing pictures and making them even more amazing is a very happy thing.

Religion is a major part of my life.   I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  My many opportunities to serve throughout my life has richly blessed my life, especially teaching.  Since 2006 I have been involved with Family Search Indexing and have indexed and arbitrated over 133,000 records.
